Favorite Recipe

My favorite recipe to make at home is Sizzling Salad. It's also my favorite recipe because you just use all your favorite ingredients. You can even change it a bit each time. The secret is in the dressing. I never change that!

Salad Ingredients:
lettuce
cucumbers
tiny bit of sliced onion
dried cranberries, if you like them, OR tomatoes
Grill some chicken breasts, then slice, or saute chicken strips and/or steak in BBQ sauce.

Salad Dressing:
1/4 cup low fat mayonnaise
salt to taste
1/2 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp garlic powder
2 Tbsp freshly squeezed lemons
a shake or two of hot tobasco sauce (this is the secret ingredient)

Tear the lettuce. Thinly slice the cucumbers. Sprinkle in a handful of cranberries, or slice a few cherry tomatoes. Thinly slice a purple onion. Toss. Lay the meats on the top of the salad.

Mix your salad dressing together. Pour over your salad. Dig in!

I like this recipe because it has a combination of lots of different flavors. I like the variety! If my dad eats with us, I always add an extra shake of Tobasco, cuz he likes things spicy. I also like using different flavors of meat and chicken in the salad. Sometimes the chicken tastes more like Mexican food, which I love. Sometimes it tastes more like a BBQ, which is also great. I don't like eating the same thing each time. I like a surprise each time I eat it. Who doesn't?
